Shared or dedicated IP address?

If you use an email service provider (ESP) to send out your emails, do you insist on having a sending IP address for your exclusive use?

A shared IP address means that you can be penalized for emails that other senders using the same IP address send. This can affect the deliverability of your messages. Of course, the converse is also true - if you engage in questionable practices, the mail you send can affect other senders as well. Their good practices can also help negate your bad practices.
