Partnering Direct Marketing and Mobile Marketing

DM News recently wrote about how to effectively use direct marketing, and its strong response rates of 2-3%, to enhance mobile marketing efforts. Because of the wide variety of mobile devices and capabilities, it is incredibly difficult to create comprehensive marketing campaigns. Rather than using mobile marketing as a push marketing tactic, mobile can be used as a highly effective pull mechanism when combined with direct marketing.

Ideas for integration:
- Advertise your mobile site on direct mail pieces or in direct email blasts
- Encourage customers to send an SMS message to a specific code in order to enter a contest or request additional information about a program
