Online Marketing Firms not Marketing Themselves Well

June 26, 2007 – 8:02 pm

Online marketers are not doing a good job of marketing themselves online, according to a study by the Online Marketing Coalition.

The study, which was based on an online survey of 170 senior-level marketers, found that more than half of the respondents reported a negative user experience when trying to research online marketing companies using the Internet.

Many participants reported that the information found on Web sites, directories and search engines was vague, and that it was difficult to get a clear view of the vendor they were researching.

“Theses results should serve as a wake-up call to the industry that there is a huge chasm between the theory and application of online marketing,” said Aaron Kahlow, chairman and founder of the Online Marketing Coalition.
