E-Mail Marketing: The Dangers of HTML

One of the most interesting areas of Digital advertising for me has always been email marketing. So vilified due to the huge amounts of spam that are sent, what people may not realize is that there is a reason so much spam is sent. One source that I read estimated that the Return on Investment of email marketing is twice that per dollar of any other medium of advertising. In other words, people spam because people buy the product that is advertised in the spam.

Now, in general I am not concerned with spamming anyone, however I am interested in legitimate email marketing. Specifically, the technical aspects of getting an email into a potential customer’s hands. A customer that is very likely to buy that product. This will be the topic of a series of blogs I will write over the coming year here on blogs.xylemcci.com. Today’s topic is validation, what it is, what it does and why an email marketer should care.
