Boost Your Recognition with Web Awards
December 4, 2007 – 9:03 amLooking for additional ways to gain recognition for all the work you’ve put into your website? Consider entering some of the numerous industry award programs available. Winning can give you additional recognition (and traffic) that you’ve been missing.
Just a few to consider:
The Webby Awards
The deadline to participate in the 12th annual award program is quickly approaching - nominations close December 14. The awards get coverage from such notable news outlets as USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, and the BBC.
Web Marketing Assocation’s Web Award
Winners were just announced for 2007, but start thinking about your entry for 2008. With these awards (going into their 11th year), you’ll receive a detailed scoring report to see how your site stacks up against other sites. This alone could be well worth the entry fees.
Horizon Interactive Awards
Entries for 2008 are due by January 31 for these awards that reward the best in interactive media. The Horizon Awards “give credit where credit is due” - to the developers of interactive media.
Interactive Media Awards
Its not too late to get your entries in for 2007 - the deadline is December 31. The Interactive Media Awards “recognize the highest standards of excellence in website design and development and honor individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievement.”
The Pixel Awards
Awards have already been given out for 2007 - but that doesn’t mean you should discount the Pixel Awards. As newcomers to the award-lineup, they focus on cutting edge design and development. Their awards package is also different, including email credits from Email Chimp, vector packs from Go Media, and a custom trophy from an up-and-coming LA artist.
